What is PetConnex?
PetConnex is Hungary's first comprehensive animal adoption portal, exclusively for rescued animals! The goal of PetConnex is to filter out illegal animal breeders and provide a safe platform for animal rescuers and their rescues. With the help of the search interface, the adopter can find the perfect pet faster, thereby speeding up the adoption process! In addition, we also aim to put a lot of emphasis on responsible animal husbandry, for which we have specialists who are experienced in the subject to help us. The adoption process is dictated by the animal rescue organization, PetConnex only functions as a connecting platform!
About me
Hello! I am Vivi, the creator and founder of PetConnex! I was 12- years- old when I first visited an animal shelter as part of a school trip, which was a major turning point in my life; I knew I wanted to be an integral part of the local animal welfare community one day! In 2020, this idea has become reality, as I met someone in a Facebook pet adoption group, who I can now call my animal rescue partner! In the beginning of 2020, I started working as a civilian animal rescuer, first transporting pets in need, and later that year my partner and I founded an animal rescue foundation, which was officially registered in 2021. As our foundation operates without a facility and with the help of fosters, we have no visitors, and advertising on Facebook is our primary way of finding a family for our rescues, just like for many other organisations. While this has proven to be functional, it can also be chaotic and time consuming, which is why I would like to centralise the adoptable pets with PetConnex, in order to make the process more transparent and therefore quicker and easier for everyone! In the photo you can see me with 2/3 of my four-legged furry companions, Sushi, my dog and Titus, one of my cats. Unfortunately, my cat Ami didn't want to cooperate during the photo shoot, she preferred to watch from afar as I scattered her favourite fishy treats. :)
I would like to adopt
I am very happy that you are in favour of adoption, as there are many abandoned pets in our country who are eagerly waiting for a warm forever home! We aim to help you in making a responsible decision with useful knowledge materials, and a pet filter to help you set your search criteria. If you create a profile, you can save your search criteria and you will receive an e-mail notification when a pet matching your criteria is uploaded! You can also save your favourite pets and events so you can easily find them again! As an adopter, you may have many questions about adopting a pet. Before choosing any type of pet, you should first look into their needs and wants to see how they fit into your lifestyle. You may have to care of a cat or a dog for 10+ years, which will cost you a lot of time and money. Before you make a commitment, do your research, think about what kind of pet would suit you best. One of the biggest heartbreaks for a pet who has already been through a lot, is to be put behind bars again due to a rash decision!
